spontaneous throttle surges?

Something is making my GP have throttle surge at random times and I'm not quite sure what is causing the problem. Sometimes it will pick up to 3000 rpms and slowly go to 1000, and other times it revs to 2500 and goes back to 1000. Would the ECM be a possible culprit?

this happened in the 94 3100 sedan. the Q2 was the culprit.

 

Have you got a check engine light?

yeah it comes on ever now and then. Whenever i look up the codes all i get is 32 (egr) and 39

Correct me if i am wrong But can't they get ploged?. That sounds like the map sincer too. Does the car ever idle like a old cammed up musle car? Does it have any cracks in the vacume lines under the hood. It could be alot of things.

the car idles smooth until it warms up then it idles rough. I always thought that was weird cause every 3.4 i've owned never idled like that, but then none of them were manuals.
