ShockTherapy Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 here's a heck of a thing for you guys. i jumped in my car and i started it, the steering column started smoking :shock: ,so naturally, i kill the engine pull the key out, and jump out of the car, leaving the door open. i get back in in about 5 minutes later, and bieng the genious i am i started the car again, and this time no problems, i was just wondering what the heck would cause that ? it's a 1991 with the steering wheel controls. phantomFE3 Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 your going to need to replace your turn signal switch, same thing happened to me, smoke came out of the stering column, replaced the turn signal switch, no more smoke and it worked perfect Quote

god910 Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 yeah, my car was great about smoking. Expecially while driving down the interstate (When it first happened) I began dissasembling my steering wheel going 80 MPH it was fun times. TSS is what is wrong, replace that and you will be fine. Quote
