rockfangd Posted March 30, 2008 Report Share Posted March 30, 2008 hi everyone. a friend of mine has a 94 GP coupe (the same one with the window problem ) well i replaced the driver side latch and adjusted the passenger side latch. but when it gets down to about 20 outside both doors will not open from the inside or out. when you pull the handles they feel like they are not connected. once they warm up a little they work perfect so she was pretty pissed when she had to climb through the only working window to get i and out of the car so needless to say i have the car back again and they work fine now. i have tried grease, WD40, pb blaster, and lots of other things. Anyone else have problems. I swear the coupe door handles really suck. once the first one breaks its all over. What i do is I figure out the amount of play between where teh handle moves and it actually actuates the latch, and I adjust it to just that point, so that you barely have to move the handles for the doors to open. Seems to make the handles last a lot longer. For instance... try the inside then the outside, feel the difference.. you can ususally feel where it starts to actuate the lever. I can't explain exactly the feeling, cuz I'm kind of drunk, but that's what I do. But then again, I can adjust my latches pretty far and not have to worry about the angle hitting the locks. >.> lock cylinders don't work from the outside, lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even with a different latch, new handle, and a different rod it always seems the same.
