Time Has Come To Rebuild Trans.

Well its that time within the next 2 or 3 weeks. I got a quote for all GM 4T60-E updates to be added while the FULL rebuild takes place. $2,400 and they can't even find a shift kit. I want to add a cooler to it too. Im still asking around for something cheaper. Only good thing is I get a good warranty from my current choice. Any input is appreciated.

Kevin's right! Even in Canadian dollars, that's steep. Check on the internet for a new crate trans before you put out that much for a rebuild.

Oh I know it's steep I was fucking pissed, because for one, it's a Lumina and that could buy me another W-body

That is the final price though for labour and everything, but If I can get a trans....I have a GM mechanic who will install it for cheap!

That would work but it's for the 3.1L engine. I need the DOHC, I know it has different ratios. Plus I am kind of sketchy about buying crutial parts like a transmission form ebay.

jeeesus I just had my bonnevilles, 4t60-e rebuilt back in january, out the door $1500, and thats including a new engine cradle. and it shifts better then any 4t60-e i've ever drove.

Yes, I believe it is. But I do agree that price is fucked, there's no body around here that does trannies, except for the one place I got the price from. I just about shit when I found out how much it was gonna be. I'm leaning towards a jy trans.
