Rabbi
Is there anyway to tell the original model / year of car my 3.4 DOHC engine was in? My 1992 z34 came with a motor that was obviously pulled (major marks on the engine lift bracket) and it is very very clean, Apparently not from my high millage car. So is there any serial numbers or codes that i can check to see the year the engine was made or the car it was originally from?? Thanks
Psych0matt
find the VIN stamp on it somewhere and run it in carfax or something similar
5speedz34
Just because there are marks on the engine lift points doesn't mean it was replaced. The cradle could've been removed, the engine may have needed to be lifted, etc. There is a partial VIN stamp on the front side of the block above the starter, and by the flywheel. My guess, is its just going to be the last 6 digits of the VIN, for that matching vehicle.
