pose_Z34 Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 I hope you guys can help on this. The A/C control in my Z34 is stuck on "Defrost". The other buttons seem to operate as the red light "transfers" as it should, and it does turn off as well. The fan operates normally as well. What could this be?? Thanks, Pose Quote
GP1138 Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Does your cruise operate? Sounds like the vacuum check valve is disconnected or broken. Either that or the vacuum ball in the fender, I can't remember which. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Vacuum problem. Often the 3 way check valve by the left strut tower or the vacuum ball is broken or the vacuum line to the vacuum ball is broken. Quote
pose_Z34 Posted March 19, 2008 Author Report Posted March 19, 2008 Sweet, the cruise doesn't work either, so that must be it. Thanks! Quote
slick Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I've also had the rubber fitting that holds the vacuum lines behind the intake manifold near the firewall pop loose several times before. Will cause the same problem. Quote
pose_Z34 Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 Think I found the problem. The check valve is indeed broken, looks like it has been for a while too. Somebody wrapped it in tape rather than spend all of $3 for a new part!!!! I'll star thee and check all else. Thanks again. Quote
