shadow
Silly Question right? Where is it located on my TGP?
hotrodolds
Drivers' side, under the washer fluid container.
jeremy
under the winshield washer fluid resevior (sp?) on the driver side of the engine bay
shadow
Thanks. Wow sounds difficult to get to.
jeremy
it's easy, just a couple bolts..
hotrodolds
It's a lot more complicated that it needs to be. The diagonal brace comes off, the washer tank comes off, and on a N/A car, the airbox needs to come out, too. I don't know about the TGP. Just use a long extension to get the hold-down bolt.

Just use a long extension to get the hold-down bolt. On mine you have to move the air box about 1" to the side to get the battery tie down off. But it doesn't have to come out of the car. And if the washer fluid bottle is too much for you, you can relocate it or the battery. Jamie
5speedz34
For a TGP: Remove the 3 brace bolts. 3 13mm. The washer bottle is the older style so its not in the way. IIRC, there is a plastic cover for the battery, that is held down by the plastic retaining clips. Remove those. Unbolt battery tie down. 13mm Unbolt battery cables. 8mm Your done! On the later cars you need to remove the washer bottle. Its easiest to pull the airbox to give yourself some room.
CSI_MuNkY
Unless Matt did this custom, the washer bottle is in the way. Although smaller than the ones on newer cars, its still over top of the battery. Jamie
5speedz34
Shit I forgot TGP's got a custom washer bottle. 88-91 NA cars got the smaller non-battery covering bottle.

shadow
Yes I just double checked my coolant bottle location is not the same as the one pictured. Is it different from 1989 to 1990 tgp? or has it been relocated in the pic?

Is it different from 1989 to 1990 tgp? or has it been relocated in the pic? That's the washer fluid bottle, not the coolant bottle. The coolant overflow is located just in front of and below the turbocharger on the driver's side.

mfewtrail
Yeah but in the previous pic the coolant bottle is on the left top of the engine? I blame that comment of lack of sleep! No really, I just wasn't paying attention. That coolant bottle is from a later Grand Prix as the TGP's had the black beauty cover there originally. My 1993 has the same style coolant bottle over there. I believe they were in GP's and probably other W-bodies from 1991 to 1993.
GOT2B GM
Thats my TGP. The washer bottle is the original, I upgraded the coolant bottle to the more accessable 91-93 style.
