Doober
I saw that somebody from this forum had already swaped ABS to non ABS brakes. I suppose to do the same with my '91 Regal LTD 3,1. Could somebody advise me: what parts do i need for conversion? Should replace all 4 brake tubes (i am from Moscow Russia, and i can only have brake tubes done), or just need to change master cyl fittings? Q-Ball
I have a non ABS in my GP SE. But I've always wanted to swap to ABS for better braking. But to do it, you need to pull the Fuse and swap the brake booster I believe.
Crazy K
I have a non ABS in my GP SE. But I've always wanted to swap to ABS for better braking. But to do it, you need to pull the Fuse and swap the brake booster I believe. if you know how to drive and brake at all... non abs is better than abs. I know how to pump brakes and drive. I have done this swap. Psychomatt has a car that someone did this swap to. I got all the parts I needed from a donor. here's what I got: firewall plate. brake pedal (iirc it has a different sized peg) steering column support. (minorly different) vacuum booster, with the vacuum hose, one way valve, and the fitting that attaches to the intake master cylinder all the front steel lines off the car. (the lines going from the rear proportioning valve and back are the same) Once you get the parts... expect a hell of alot of work to put them in. I cheated the first time and reamed out the pmIII plate to fit a bracket I made from a regular firewall plate. Things were passable but not quite right yet. I've since swapped in a complete firewall plate and column bracket, but have not put the car back together yet.

But I think someone pulled the light in my dash. Either that, or my ABS didn't get hooked up all the way right when I had my motor/tranny swapped. I know you're not supposed to have to mess with any of the brakes for that really, but the master cylinder and abs pump assembly were on extremely lose when I got my car back, and only recently discovered this while I was bleeding brakes a couple months back.
