3.4 oil leak from rear head-cam bearing seal?

I have a1994 cutlass vert and I found an oil leak that leaks right on the rear exhaust manifold. I found it when I changed the entire exhaust and looked up and seen the oil dripping off the cover on the end of the cam carrier 10mm bolts. I believe there is a seal inside that cover according to the manuals. Has anyone ever done this job? It is really had to get at . it is just under the egr. I have done the oil pump O ring already and have changed the timing belt within the last year. Can this seal be changes with out tearing done the top of the engine?

Thanks

Welcome back!!!!!! Long time no see. visit more often!

Ouch. someone has. Lemme get you to the powertrain section where alleged 3.4 gurus will help you out. The vert section is for vert specific issues, which this is not.

are you sure you are not mistaking this leak for oil leaking and traveling from the distributor/oil pump drive O-ring? that is on the drivers side rear and right beneath the head, and oil usually flows down and backwards from there.

there is a rubber seal that can possibly leak on the cam cover. Shouldn't really take too long to replace. You just have to remove the upper intake and then you will have direct access to the 4 8mm bolts that hold the cover in place.
