I would like to try one of those retrofit kits but I am unsure if they make them anymore? I didnt see any at my local autozone.

 

They do make them, and they're fairly straightforward and easy to use.

I converted mine to R134a last year. My condensor was leaking so I lost all of my R12.

 

Replaced the condensor, accumulator, and changed the fittings to R134a style and charged it up.

 

ICE COLD.
