1990lumina Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 The most expensive Fel-Pro ones are the best from what I've heard. Quote
88red4cyl Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 From what I've read on here, the Permadry are the best you can get.. I wouldn't go with anything less.. They may cost more, but it would give me peace of mind.. Quote
Chancho Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 yea the metal based permadry ones, i figured they were good but i just wanted to get a feel for how long they would last, the stockiies got replaced at about 80k with cheapies and im at 152 and the coolant port went out Quote

Crazy K Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 yes, the permadry are worth every cent. buy the regular ones only if you like doing work twice. Quote

5speedz34 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I put Permadry's in my truck they are the shit! I bought a set to put in my roommates truck. it leaks like shit! Mine never leaked externally. I would add coolant and it would disappear. Oil looked fine. Then one day I smelled coolant and it started to run hot and I had no air. Replaced the gasket and I was set! Quote

Chancho Posted March 6, 2008 Author Report Posted March 6, 2008 I guess not, but as far as the 3100, the consensis is that the felpro permadry seem like the way to go Quote
ihateallmustangs Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I just put fel-pro permadrys in my 3100. They are far superior even when put beside the new GM gaskets. Quote
