jeremy
Can you still lower a 2G GP if you have 20s on it? If so how much of a drop can you do? thnx
jdcutty
You could if you wanted to bag it do you could change the ride height, but otherwise I wouldn't think you would be able to go more than a half inch, if that, without rubbing issues. jeremy
yeah, I was thinking that you couldn't drop it too much if you tossed 20s on it....but I wasn't sure
jeremy
....in case anyone else cares, all the people that have responded on other boards have all told me the same thing, that if I want to lower it, the biggest rims they would recommend would be 18s....they say anything larger then I shouldn't lower it.... Euro
Damn I didn't see this thread. I couldn't remember for the life of me if people on 20's were lowered. IIRC the drops don't go more than 2 inches, so I guess the 18's being the max makes sense.
Psych0matt
I know mine isn't a second gen, but with my 19"s, even if a ton skinnier, would still rub if I dropped it much at all. My suspension is saggy, but with a full strong suspension, I can't see more than 1.5" before major rubbing
kuntzie
there is a guy on the local board running eibach springs and 20s he has 235 35 20s on the car wth no rubbing issues.. the tire is basically the same size as stock.

99RegalGS
If you did a correct plus size with the correct offset and wheel width, you should not have any rubbing issues. The diameter of 225/60R16 tires is 26". So you still have 3" on each side of the wheel to spare. What's the width and the offset of these wheels? wildbill
As long as the overall diameter is the same you should be able to lower it. IMO 20s would look better without lowering it.
jeremy
well the deal on the 20s I was going to pick up fell through and finding a set of 20s that I actually like is tough enough so I am not sure what type of wheels I am going to end up with
