AWeb80
can someone spread some light on this for me? Explain what it is. My Boston x-overs have 3 attenuation settings 0 dB -2 dB -4 dB what should I set them at when I install them? Thanks.
slick
Are those on the tweeter outputs? Generally, the it drops the output of the tweeter a bit, as some people do not care for the output near as much. Putting them on the -dB setting will drop the output just a bit. AWeb80
ok...not make them as pronounced? yes, it is for the tweets
slick
Yes, sometimes the tweeters output is overpowering, generally due to how sensitive they are. Best bet is to hook it up, turn it on, and listen. Output is too much, drop it down a bit.
Garrett Powered
with my JLs you cant even hardly tell the difference.
slick
I can usually tell the difference when doing install's at work. The customer's generally always leave it to me to decide on how I should set it up, so I usually install and hook up everything, turn it on, and then make the adjustments as needed. Plus, who mounts the crossover in the door anyways? All of that slamming the door against the body will really wear out those crossover's pretty damn quick. AWeb80
that is where my current crossovers are now... I don't slam my doors anyway....where else is a good place to put them .....and to keep them hidden.
Ryan from Ohio
Basically it will reduce the volume from the tweeters due to mounting area. If you tweets are closer to your ears than the mids, you usually attenuate them a bit. Wait until people mention phase shifting the pass mid to overcome the distance...
