89GP_SE Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I found this car for sale by the original owner and they still had the paper work. These cars were rated for pretty high fuel milage back then, and they were pretty expensive, I didnt realize that. Edit: sorry about the crappy pics, take with the good ole cell phone. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 About the same as a basic convertible... Quote
nebojsa_o Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 That's canadian $26,000 so back then, that was probably like $19,000 USD. Quote
Crazy K Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 24 city 37 highway. WTF??? when did they rescind the 55mph speed limits again? Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 24 city 37 highway. WTF??? when did they rescind the 55mph speed limits again? I duno but those are pretty accurate figures there. Quote
hotrodolds Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I had a '92 SL Sedan that could manage 35mpg on the highway. After a trans shop put the wrong trans in it, I averaged over 40mpg. Alas, that was the bane of the engines' bottom ends' existance. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 My '92 averaged 35 on the highway with the top down... Quote
Night Fury Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 <-----As my avatar tag says, I get 36 on the highway. Thats what pisses me off. How are our cars now getting worse mileage than mid-ninties cars? It doesn't make sense. Quote
88red4cyl Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 IIRC, I think one factor is they changed how they calculate mpg on new cars... Other than that I don't know.. Another thing I don't understand is how my grandpa's mark viii gets ~35 mpg on the highway, and it has the "same" motor as a mustang cobra, and my tiny v6 struggles to get 25 mpg highway... Quote
