Guest RedCutlassSL Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Well today I finally started pulling the engine from my parts car. Anyway, the damn thing is stuck. We can't get it all the way out, all the mounts are off, I cut the driveshafts with a disc grinder, but the damn thing won't come out. It looks like its getting caught up in the firewall. Any ideas? Anything I might have missed thats still bolted down? Thanks, I need speedy replies!! Quote
Sailor77 Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 exhaust maybe? Why did you cut the axels, they just pop out. Also, try to remove your brake master cylinder, it frees some room. Make sure all the wires are disconnected as well. It may take a little wiggling to get the bolts out the holes. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Damn, I was just gonna ask you how much for the axles. Could be exhaust, tranny shifter linkage, wire harness... Quote
Sailor77 Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 why do you need axels? I may have some for ya? Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 Nah, I was just kidding. I do have an extra set of axles that I bought awhile back when I was thinking about a future ABS conversion. Quote
Guest RedCutlassSL Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 why did we cut the axles? i dunno actually, cody and i started destroying everything we didn't want for the hell of it, hammers can easily penertrate the skin of a car. Quote
Sailor77 Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 so what, you have this extra engine? Which car you pullin it out of? Quote
Robby1870 Posted July 23, 2003 Report Posted July 23, 2003 I would say either you missed a tranny mount, or the master cylinder is stopping you Robby Quote
Guest RedCutlassSL Posted July 25, 2003 Report Posted July 25, 2003 Well, the engines out, it only took maybe 2 hours to finish it. Quote
soccrplayrgtp Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 and the verdict was??? the exhaust? Quote
