stiff and sagging rear suspension

My 94 CS 4 door has a sagging rear end. I didn't think much about it till it got cold over the last couple months. On days when it's about 25*F or less, it's not only sagging, but VERY stiff. It feels like there's no spring there. Going over bumps and potholes feels like the rear axle is just welded to the car. When it gets over about 40*F or so, it's nowhere near as bad, not even enough to complain about really. It even seems to sit higher when it's warmer out. It's too sloppy outside to crawl under right now to check it out, so I'm just looking for opinions on what the problem might be.

What do you guys think? Bad rear shocks? Bad monoleaf? Both?

Thanks!

If you get under there and don't see anything obviously wrong with the monoleaf (snapped/cracked) then I'd suspect dead struts. The sagging is caused by the monoleaf and new struts won't cure that issue. you could try the monoleaf "pucks" found at NAPA - they might help get a little bit of height back in your spring. I would use the pucks AND the factory rubber bushing to jack things up if it's really bad though. My Lumina isn't the best either - but it's better since I took my sub and box out.

well the monoleaf is definitely part of the problem. they just sag over time. either get a good used pull(a stiffer one too) or get the aftermarket one.

and i have heard of struts being very stiff in below freezing temps. not sure if its brand specific or if they are blown etc etc.
