gp90se
My brother has a 96 beretta thats shot but runs/shifts good and a 95 monte in decent shape that needs an engine. heres my list of questions and please feel free to throw in any advice a) do I need to use the monte sensors on the berettas engine is the 4t60e in both the same size so I can use the berettas trans and not the montes c) engine mounts I assume will need to be swapped, but its a direct swap d) exhaust manifolds the same? anything else, im all ears
no1kicker
I don't know for sure, but the safest way to do it would be to reuse everything from the monte besides the actual engine. Most of the stuff is probably the same anyways though.
gp90se
im stuck outside (once again) doing this swap, so the less I *have* to do the bettet, but thats prolly what i will be doing
19Cutlass94
I assume they are both 3100's? Youll want to use ALL the sensors from the Monte. You may needs brackets and such off the monte as well. But for the most part, yes it is a direct swap. 3100 belhousing is a 3100 belhousing. Doesnt matter the car. gp90se
I know the mounts for the engine/trans is different, so that has to be swapped. I called Chris yesterday, he's thinkin the ecu will go nuts if i use the beretta trans since the gearings different. why do you say I need to use all the monte sensors, a lot of them seem to be the same (iac, tps, map, etc)
no1kicker
The 96 would be OBD2, is the 95 also?
gp90se
I think all 94-95 cars are that basterized obd 1 or 1.5 whatever you want to call it. based on obd1, obd2 connector and nothing but a tech 2 can read.
no1kicker
Yeah, I know the 95 GP I have has the OBD1 connector, but in my old 94 SSEi there was a OBD2 connector. I think using the original sensors is the safest way to go. You could try comparing part #'s for each sensor on autozone's website or something. When do you plan on swapping? gp90se
my brother has a small claims lawsuit filed for the monte, waiting to see what happens with that. I can give you a buzz and let ya know when/where soon as I know if your interest. it's going to be an outdoors kinda deal, not much fun lol
