xxREGALIZExx Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 from wikipedia: An article on Edmund's Inside Line [1] has stated that the Regal will be reintroduced to the North American market to replace the LaCrosse. This model will be based on the new GM Epsilon platform (the W-body is scheduled to be discontinued in 2010), and will be built and sold in both North America and China. Major exterior and interior design has come from PATAC and is the design that was originally planned for a next generation LaCrosse for North America. sorry if you guys already knew this i just thought it wouldbe interesting to know! ns87 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 If thats true, its just like Ford bringing back the Taurus and the Sable. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 IMHO, I'd rather own a "Regal" than a "LaCrosse". God what a stupid name. Quote
5speedz34 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 IMHO, I'd rather own a "Regal" than a "LaCrosse". God what a stupid name. I think they were trying to ride off the concept cars success. Quote

Brian P Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 GM has to stop killing names that people are familiar with. It's NOT helping at all. Quote

xxREGALIZExx Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 i didnt realy understand why they killed off the regal in the first place it was a great selling car along with the gp and their killing that off too in favor of that that....G8!!! which you cant really argue looks totally sick but still id rather have a gp at least it has some history behind it!!!! ns87 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Every so often producers decide its cool to have numbers in a name. Aka, Pontiac 2000 and 6000. Saab 900, 9000. Gateway 2000, etc. Then they realize its kinda dumb and shorten them such as the Saab 9-3. Apparently Pontiac skipped the first step this time. In 5 years everyone will be disgusted with numbered names G8,G6...and our lovely W body names will be back Quote
xxREGALIZExx Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 yay hopefully olds will come with it!! Quote
