On my 91 cutlass every time i hit a bump especially at speed the rear of the car moves to the left. Every time no matter what speed. It is really noticeable on pot holes. It did this before and after my RSTB too. Any thoughts?

bad strut, damaged link arm of some sort, cracked leaf spring?

crawl beneath the car and look everything over... and grab all six of the link arms and push and pull on them, see if one is loose or bad, look the spring over for cracks, and last but not least... bounce the rear up and down and see if maybe one shock is blown.

That is what i was afraid of. Awhile back the stupid towing company put the hook around (not sure of the name) the bar that goes from the middle of the car to the wheel. Those idiots bent it.

Thats the Lateral link, if that's bent I'd put a lot of money on that being the cause of all your problems.

Could probably pick one up at a wreckers fairly cheap, or if you want to go the after market route, BMR and Held both make them for these cars.(Held FTMFW!)

I paid $350 for the trailing arms and both sets of lateral links. At the time I was also buying both front and rear coil overs, (total of my costs was $1300us in August of last year), so that may of been taken into account as well. Your best bet is to e-mail Lee at Held, tell him what your car is, and from that he can give you a better idea of what your looking at.

My friend had his break on his 98' Lumina Sedan. Anyone know if ones from a 93' Cutlass Supreme will work on his 99' Lumina? I know the gens are out especially on the arse end but is there the chance that these lateral links were kept the same? I tried checking it out on gmpartsdirect.com but they changed their catalogue and removed part numbers so cross referencing doesn't work any more.

=\

edit: Turns out he was luckily visiting a friend who was 20min away and today he got a new lateral bar from the dealer for $40+tx and his buddy is installing it as I type this. I'm putting money down those trailing arms are on their way out if 2 lateral bars have gone bad on a 98'. They got the car back to his bud's place by bolting a chain from the busted side across to the other wheel like a tension member. Neat idea.
