solo intent
well i have been out of the auto world for quit some time due to the fact i had a honda that not one thing broke on the whole time while driving it (now the fiances). are they worth the extra 70 some bucks though? hotrodolds
Magnecor makes good stuff. MSD isn't worth it on our cars in any application. I use AC Delco wires and Autolite copper plugs.
solo intent
i was just making a comparison to msd for price, it was the first one i looked up, ac delco is even cheaper at 112 so yeah. but yes now i understand that magnecor is a good brand
slick
And... unless your making some serious power(500+ hp), the stock stuff is more than sufficient for most GM vehicle's.
solo intent
so on your guys posts i will take it that spending 200 bucks for wires is a waste of money, even though magnecor is a good brand. thanks y'all
19Cutlass94
yupp, in these cars stock ignition is good for about 95% of us
IRONDOG442
well i have been out of the auto world for quit some time due to the fact i had a honda that not one thing broke on the whole time while driving it (now the fiances). are they worth the extra 70 some bucks though? then sell your gm car and buy another honda
solo intent
knew i should have never mentioned the honda
hotrodolds
LOL...that's OK. Honda's of today aren't anything to brag about, so it's OK.
rockfangd
all i can say is that whether you pay 20 for wires or 300 for wires they wont hurt or help
hotrodolds
That's not true. A cheap set of wires can hurt performance, and be generally annoying.
Brian P
What's wrong with MSD?
5speedz34
And... unless your making some serious power(500+ hp), the stock stuff is more than sufficient for most GM vehicle's. Werd. Just get some good aftermarket wires. Delco's ignition system is great on these cars, and factory wires on any late model GM lasts a long time. Even though I'm not making the power, I like the look to MSD/Magnecor. I'm a Magnecor man myself. What's wrong with MSD? I've always heard their products kinda suck myself. intern8tion9l
i have taylor, i like 'em
per0781
those magnecors are serious overkill for any 60* V6 engine. MSD wires are highly recommendedin the LSx community. Taylors wires like to break at the spark plug boot. Happed to me twice on my old 91 cutty.
dohc v6
I have the magnacore wires, they are fuckin awesome. They have a very large silicone jacket, and the plug ends are very well made. The stock stuff is ok if you buy GM, other wise its junk. Also I get no noise inside the car, from the radio with these. Good wires.
solo intent
no noise from the radio. are you refering to static?

Good wires. The stock stuff you shouldn't get any noise. Just make sure not to buy crappy wires. I've had Bosch (no problems), personally I like NAPA's premium wires, they look almost stock. I forget the brand they use... 3.4 DOHC wires are expensive because they are long and the boots aren't cheap. Just get some reputable ones. I spent like $115 on stock wires from NAPA. Bosch should run you about $80-100.
wildbill
no noise from the radio. are you refering to static? No he is referring to the high pitch whine that you can hear through your speakers. It gets louder as the rpms go up. Typically caused by a bad ground but can also be created by poor quality plug wires.
solo intent
guess my radio has always been to loud or have always had decent plugs
