Brake pump is not shuts off (wated more than 2 minuts - pump still ran). 2) I bled system recently. Brake warning lamp dissapeared, Antilock lamp lits. Situation is absolutely the same as before bleeding. I bled system according to manual on http://search.ebscohost.com/. Advice me smth what should i do to determine malfunction. Thank you for your tips Quote
Doober Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 Maybe somebody has NOS, new or rebuilt Accumulator 18013994 ACDELCO, or knows where i can get this part. I wouldn't like to by used one. I wonder, i saw several offers of NOS accumulator for 86 regals on eBay, but saw nothing for mine powermaster. Any help will be highly appriciated +7 926 237 5658 v.doober@gmail.com MSN: v_dubrovskiy@hotmail.com Quote
Dark Ride Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Yup, sounds like the accumulator, so glad I swapped in the regular non-abs brakes. Anyway, you sound be able to get a new accumulator from Prior Manufacturing. Quote
Doober Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 I would be happy to get a new one, but i have only internet, eBay and other few on-line shops. There are no any rebuild facilities for such units in Moscow. To swap to the regular brakes i think is a last way out. If anybody tried to adapt accumulator from other powermaster to this system? If i saw accumulators for previous regal generation available - i would like to know the difference between them. I suppose that general parameter for accumulator is allowed pressure. If someone has any experience in such mods? Quote
Dark Ride Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 I think Prior Manufacturing is online, I would suggest trying that first, swapping in Non-abs Brakes is not an easy task, but it was worth it to me, my entire unit was shot. Quote

Could you gve me a link to the prior manufacturer's website? Now i found the unit only here. http://www.allworldautomotive.com/auto_parts_for_sale_car_accessories_ots8005-110.html But how to buy here??? The company is from Kuwait Quote
Doober Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 I was adviced with the Accumulator new p/No 88927271. Is it correct? I have this part No available for order in a local GM franchized dealer. Price is very confusing and attractive (less then $200) Quote
Dark Ride Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 http://www.tgpforums.com/index.php?topic=2249.0 Its on that page somewhere, ABS Accumulator Its Prior Remanufacturing, I'm not sure what the website is, I've never actually looked at it, only heard of it. Quote
mfewtrail Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Prior doesn't list our accumulator online, but they do carry them. The part number is 4900100 for the ABS accumulator. I called the number on their website(1-800-444-4821) when I ordered mine. It was about $105 US shipped back in 2004 or 2005 when I ordered mine. The prior accumulator is a bit larger in physical size than the original GM unit by the way. I installed mine after tilting the engine forward. You could probably install it without tilting the engine forward if you were to remove the throttle body. I tightened it down using a large wrench behind the engine since the Prior unit doesn't have a nut welded on the front like the original GM unit(the nut is on the back side of the prior accumulator). EDIT: This page has a bit more info on the PMIII. http://www.kazmotorsports.com/tpsgarage/TGP/brakes/powermaster.htm Quote
Dark Ride Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I was wondering when one of you guys that actually kept your PM3 would chime in Quote
Doober Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 If somebody knows what is the "POWER PISTON" and how to remove it? I found out a TSB about powermaster's troubleshooting. All my sympthoms point to internal leakage. 3 valves may participate in leakage: Pressure relief, check valve, and another one valve that concerns with power piston. Quote
