Rear windshield brake light

So there's this brake light at the back of my windshield. Just about everyone should have one.

 

A while back, that brake light shorted out for some particular reason. As a result, none of my brake lights would work. The mechanic I took it to found it after 3 hours of work and basically disconnected it from wherever it goes to and told me that if I wanted to get it to work, that I'd have to run my own wiring back there to connect it again.

 

Now I have a problem. I want to connect it, but I don't know where it is. Where does this wire go to? What color is it? I'm really not sure how to figure this one out. I'm planning on connecting my rear wing's brake light bar soon, which is why I need to figure it out.
