radman3120
My current system setup is an aftermarket head unit, two 12" subs, sub amp, capacitor, and stock non-bose speakers. I just picked up a parts car with the bose system and im wondering how hard it would be to put the bose speakers and amp into my car. If possible, I'd like to use my dash speakers and add the door speakers. From what im reading, the bose amp/speakers run at either 1 or 2 ohms. So my questions: Would it be worth it to replace my regular stock 6x9s with the bose 6x9s if im only running mids and highs through them? Is it possible to use both the dash and door speakers in the front? I was thinking that I could use two sets of 4 ohm, non-bose, speakers in the front and wire them for 2 ohms. What are the specs for the bose amp?
slick
It's a bit more work than just adding the Bose amp and speakers. Lots of stuff to be re-wired. BTW, the Bose is not worth it, one bit.
Ryan from Ohio
Seriously, if you seen one of them stock "Bose" amps you would laugh like a lunatic. The stock Bose Stuff is garbage. bose as a whole is garbage. Face the reality Wiring a stock amp that low is disaster if not fatal to one or all components. I would advise buying the right items instead of cobbling something together thats going to A) be a waste of time sounds like crap C) isnt worth your time/effort to install. slick
BTW, if you want some amplifiers that will have the output of the Bose system, I have some 20x2 @ 4 output amplifiers for the taking.
radman3120
Ok, my current setup sounds really good I just didn't know if adding the Bose stuff would give it a little extra edge or not and I have all the Bose stuff in my parts car now. Sounds like its def not worth it. But I am thinking that it I might put it in my beater truck if you guys think its worth it. I probably have to run some wires anyway and free is always better than spending money, lol.
Dan94Z34
Its not worth messing with. You can get a cheep cd player and set of speakers from wally world, and it would sound just as good if not better than that factory bose system. When I had my Lumina Z-34 back in the day, I was never impressed by the bose system in it. I replaced it the first week I got the car. radman3120
alright, im not going to bother with the bose for my z34 or my truck. im pretty happy with what ive got and it seems a lot easier to just add aftermarket amp and speakers. thanks for the input. Regal_GS_1989
Bose = Buy Other Sound Equipment But yea, Bose as whole isn't that great. Its not so much that they make bad speakers, but for the price you pay, they are bad. My parents have an acoustic wave music system. It does sound pretty good for what it is, but i could sure buy a hell of a lot better system for th 1000$+ MSRP of the Bose. (it was a gift from someone) My 60 $ set of Optimus Pro x44AV and my 20$ Salvation army Onkyo receiver blow the bose away in every category possibly, except for maybe aesthetics.
