brocno2454
94 Grand Prix 3100 auto tranny. I am wondering if ther are any common leaks on these cars and if so how much should I expect to pay. Also I would like to change the fluid and filter but have hurd bad things about powering flushing. The car has 166k on it but I do not know the history of it. Any suggestions? Car shifts fine but I have seen some lil drops of atf under the car when I move it also the filter I want done just becuase it goes with basic mant. Robby1870
Most likely the pan gasket is leaking. What color is the fluid? More red, or more brown/orange?
93CutlassSupreme
Most likely the pan gasket is leaking. What color is the fluid? More red, or more brown/orange? Trans cooler lines leak often too. Mine have leaked for 10 years. If you drop the pan, change the filter, and top off the fluid you won't have any problems. brocno2454
also 1-2 feels a little hard.
Robby1870
1-2 always feels harder than 2-3 in these cars. Better a hard shift than a soft slipping shift.
brocno2454
So would it be ok to drop the pan and change the gasket and filter and then just top off the tranny? I have hurd that flushing it may hurt it more than help it. Any special kind of fluid or filter I should use?

5speedz34
Change the fluid and filter. Torque the gasket to spec and go from there. EDIT: Get a filter kit from anywhere. Fluid just use something not synthetic, I like Valvoline.
