Jumping a dead battery

I would MUCH prefer a used Delco or Interstate battery (tested and shown to have appropriate capacity) than a brand-new Small-Mart or Scum's Club battery which in my experience are junk in two years.

You've put in two batteries and two alternators. Have you had the starting/charging team properly tested; including voltage drop tests?

First Guess: You don't have a battery or alternator problem. You have a systemic problem that is killing batteries and alternators.

ANY decent automotive service center should be able to do a proper diagnosis of the starting/charging system. About 1/2 hour's labor.

I've never had a "professional" voltage drop test done. In my experience automotive tests at shops are a bunch of bullshit.

I figure I have some grounding issues. Since my first day with this car, when I have many accessories on, the headlights dim to nothing, the voltage gauge drops to the yellow zone, and the rpms fall to about 500.
