Stop this, please, it's called trolling, and unless he's selling something or trying to take credit for someone else's work, he can tell people whatever he wants, fabrication or not, about his own transmission.

Sounds like my cutlass when i bought it. Its a 4t60 E and a 3100 so it should be fairly easy to just replace the diff. I know that it might not be recomended, due to the metal filings, but i got my cutlass with a grenaded diff, trans fluid that was blacker then tar and full of little metal flakes. I replaced the Diff and the housing, flushed out the trans and have put about 20 000 trouble free miles on it since.

I'm on Trans #3, don't worry. My first one started slipping in gear when warm (130k orig miles) second one was a junkyard trans which went about 20k before shredding the reverse reaction drum. #3 is another junkyard tranny with 80k, and I have driven maybe 30-35k since the install and it's been good. I've never blown a diff yet, but know some people who have, and they were peg-leggerzzzz.
