Regal_GS_1989
Sounds like my cutlass when i bought it. Its a 4t60 E and a 3100 so it should be fairly easy to just replace the diff. I know that it might not be recomended, due to the metal filings, but i got my cutlass with a grenaded diff, trans fluid that was blacker then tar and full of little metal flakes. I replaced the Diff and the housing, flushed out the trans and have put about 20 000 trouble free miles on it since.

runt
Pegleg burnout: Doing a burn out where only 1 wheel is being spun. Such as, the type of burnout you do when you own a W-Body.

Brian P
yupper! I'm on Trans #3, don't worry. My first one started slipping in gear when warm (130k orig miles) second one was a junkyard trans which went about 20k before shredding the reverse reaction drum. #3 is another junkyard tranny with 80k, and I have driven maybe 30-35k since the install and it's been good. I've never blown a diff yet, but know some people who have, and they were peg-leggerzzzz.
