slick Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 First off, no cuss words in thread title's. Secondly, sounds like a faulty door trigger. Quote
hell_raiser Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 thanks umm soo could i bypass this? Quote
Psych0matt Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 are you sure you don't have the dimmer clicked to "on"? my ex's family's car was like this, so they pulled the bulbs for almost two years, until I pointed it out when she told me that Quote
hell_raiser Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 ok i pulled head light switch and bang there out! now i have no head lights lol Quote
hell_raiser Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 soo if one wanted to remove auto lights what wires would one cut lol Quote
slick Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 The door trigger is tied into the domelight on these vehicle's, which all is through the headlight switch. So obviously if you pull the headlight switch, none of the stuff will work. You need to rule out that it's not a faulty door trigger, or a bad ground. Headlight switches are cheap as well. Quote
slick Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 It's not as simple as cutting a wire. Quote
hell_raiser Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 ok thank's they do shut off after like 5 minutes Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 What year car? I'd have to consult my wiring diagrams, but I think if pulling the headlight switch shuts them off, there must be a short in the switch. You might be able to pop the switch apart and fix the short if you're so inclined. Otherwise, the switch probably needs replacing. Quote
Regal_GS_1989 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I has the lights come on in my regal before, and it turned out to be a faulty switch. If i'd slam the slider back and fourth a few times they would turn off, but then sometimes they would come back on. I replaced the switch and never had an issue again. Quote
hell_raiser Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 it's a 97 cutty 4 door Quote
rockfangd Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 if you unplug the headlight switch everything will go out. the door triggers are more common togoing bad than a headlight switch but both are possible Quote
