spiderw31
This morning before work I did manage to get my timing light to work on one of my other cars, so at least I know it functions. When I try to check the GP, I don't get any pulses, but the battery has taken a beating from all the cranking in the cold and it is cranking the car VERY slowly now. I suspect I'm not getting the voltage needed to strobe the timing light at this point, so I still really don't know if I have spark or not. I tried to pull one of the plug wires and check that way, but in the cold, my numb hands couldn't get the wire off the plug. I'll try again this evening, but is there a trick to pulling the wires on a TDC? At any rate, I'm gonna get the car on a charger to get the battery back up to a usable point, and proceed from there. spiderw31
as for the wire just twist a little and pull. and hope it doesnt break You jinxed me... Broke two wires I was able to verify however, the car has no spark. I got nothing on the timing light with known good voltage and a freshly charged battery. Even after getting a plug out and laying it on the head, I got no spark. So thank you to all who kept me from getting ahead of myself Also checked for any codes, and got nothing other than the usual code 12. So I'll stop looking at timing, and start looking at the ignition, and I'll start a new thread for that.
