slick
What all did GM do when they cut the top off the Cutlass to keep it floppy like a fish. I know strut tower braces, any thing else? I would think that even that wouldn't make it stable enough.
Redfox340
Besides the "roll bar" above the passengers and standard larger sway bars for the FE3 suspension... there's really nothing more. Maybe LukeZ34, DOHCRagtop or any of the drop topper's could share some light on the subject. - Erik
Brian P
The unibody is reinforced in countless other places. Take a look around the door frame and underbody around the rear fenderwells

Sailor77
yes, the whole body is reenforced to adjust for the convertible. As is any convertible or T-top car. The convertibles also weight more then the standard coupe for the same reason.

GnatGoSplat
There's probably over 2-dozen reinforcements. Off the top of my head, there's additional framework/reinforcements under the door sills, reinforcements in the front door jamb, braces on the front core support, framework under the back seats, framework between the rear wheels, reinforcements to the unibody near the dash... lots. Get a 91-95 Cutlass service manual and you will see them all in the "Body" section. Those reinforcements greatly contribute to why a convertible weighs more than a coupe.
