Doing rear struts...need torque settings

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am doing the rear struts tomorrow.

I'm putting on gr2's

I have to get new strut mounts today, and I have the struts already.

I first need to know if there is anything else that I should keep in mind before/while doing this, or any parts that I should get also.

And..I am unable to find the torque settings for the nuts.

It said in the instructions that you have to put them on at a certain level, what is it.

Thank You in advanace.

I believe it's tight. That's just about it. What nuts are you talking about the lower strut bolts and nuts? or the upper bolts? Either way, I didn't torque them, one of mine was rusted and it ended up breaking and I had to drill it out and use a bolt/nut. Fun times. Best tip I can give you is keep the car low to the ground when you are trying to hammer the lower bolts out. The lower you get the car to the ground the easier it will be to get them out.
