GnatGoSplat
http://www.autonews.com/article.cms?articleId=42395 I wonder, is it still gonna be a W-body? I don't care what anyone says, a real V8 still sounds a helluva lot meaner than any L67 I've ever heard.
slick
I'm guessing it's gonna be on the same platform as the new Caprice that my dad spotted driving on the highway in the Detroit area. Not a w-body anymore, and I'm happy its V-8. Which do you guys think they will get? A current V-8, or a new design?
GnatGoSplat
Hmmm, it seems a bit quick to kill off the current Monte/Impala platform though. Plus, if it were to be a complete redesign or changing platform for 2004, I would have thought spy photos would have been leaked by now. slick
True, so do you think they will make them FWD then? Or maybe channel out the car, put a rear end in it, and make it RWD?
GnatGoSplat
If it's not a complete redesign, it'll be FWD. If it IS a complete redesign, that's a shocker to me!
slick
With GM, who knows. But then again, they are cheap, so it may be on the currect platform.

patgizz
i read in one of the mags a few weeks ago that the w-platform is gonna be gone in 06 and replaced with rwd on which the new imp/monte will be built.

GnatGoSplat
If it's RWD, it won't be a W-body. It might be on the Sigma platform.
