dohc v6
I have a bad gas smell inside the car. I checked all the lines under the hood, all good. I check in the back of the car and that seems where it is coming from. So I am thinking thats its the canister purge tank, am I right, and would cause the smell of gas inside the car as well as on the outside. It smells really, bad. rockfangd
Gas tank. Filler tube. all the time? running? not running? how much gas is in it. I think the purge tank is up front on ours but i could be wrong.
dohc v6
I took a look under the car today and everything was good. Umm as far as the smell, its when the car is running and after as well. But if the car is stopped for a while it goes away. The charcole canister is in the back. I replaced the canister purge valve already
89SupremeCutty
does it happen when you have a full tank?
rockfangd
sounds like it may be a fuel line
dohc v6
I looked around, all fuel lines are good. My question is, what does the charcole canister do?
1990lumina
It stores fuel vapor instead of evaporating them into the environemnt.
89SupremeCutty
It stores fuel vapor instead of evaporating them into the environemnt. yea and if you over fill your tank, the gas goes into there, when it expands inside the tank and stuff, and thats where you get the raw fuel smell.
