MonteCarloDude
3100 or a 3400, if it's the same price.
xtremerevolution
I would get an L27, but that's me, being one of the only ones here with the L27. The engine is extremely reliable, has a ton of low-end torque (and I mean, a lot of torque starting at 1500 RPM), and runs me 28mpg highway at 80mph (though I do have roller rockers, intake, and exhaust done). ManicMechanic
My van has an L27...
xtremerevolution
My van has an L27... And for a good reason too. Lots of torque, and they last for freakin ever, like an energizer battery.
hell_raiser
what would i half to do to the 3400 to put it in my 97 cutty? do i need to change the timing chain cover?
IRONDOG442
the 3400 has the same dimensions as the 3100 engine that Oldsmobile put ino those cars from the factory no mods neccesary
Brian P
...especially if you grab a '96-99 3400 it will literally be plug and play (except the little braces reinforcing the Alternator and MAP sensor. Make sure you get those)
hell_raiser
soo would a van engine be good? 120,000 km
19Cutlass94
It doesnt matter if its a car or van engine.. its the same thing. There are still issues that you will need to deal with either way.
