In one week...

Freeze plug

Water pump

PS pump

And still have a massive vacuum leak..

Ah, the joy of owning a 3.4 DOHC

Why, oh why did I get rid of my little 3.1? All it needed in 2 years:

1 Alternator

1 ICM

1 ICM to CPS length of wiring

1 TSS

I'm an idiot...lol

here's a breakdown of the issues with the w-bodies that I have owned:

'89GP LE (3.1L) - Digital cluster malfuction, broken door handle, broken remote gas door cable (got rid of car with 142k)

'92 Euro3.4 - n/a (traded in car w/<40k)

'95 GTP - n/a (sold car w/<35k)

'97 Cutlass Ser. IV 3100 - n/a (sold with 117k)

'90 STE 3.1L 5spd - electrical problem with fuel pump cutting out, not specific to w-body though (~162k IIRC)

'94 Cutlass 'vert 3100 - picked up with intake gasket failure, cracked monoleaf, two bad door handles among other things. (224k)

'97 Monte Z34 - High pressure PS line cracked (sold with 176k, not leaking a drop of fluid)

My GP was pretty good to me

Alternator

CV joints

Sep. Belt

Ok is it just the 2 door gps that had this problem. Whenever I opened up the passenger door, you would hear click click, my 89 and my dads 88 both did that, and both on the pass side only.

Neither of my GPs do that.

Handle isn't adjusted right. My Lumina used to do that - I tightened up the linkage behind the handle and it's solid now.

no i think it had something to do with the little thingy that holds your door from opening too far.

On our '97 cutlass with the 3100:

- Door Handle

- Fuel pump...should last the life of the car. :(

- LIM gasket

- Water Pump

- Alternator

- Front wheel bearing + CV joint

- Water leaking in the trunk from rear window

- Rear brakes rotors+pads

- ball joints + tie rod ends

- Both front strut bearing plates

and a few more problems to go!!! :P

Well...in the 10 months I've owned the GP, just over 10k miles and my warranty has already paid itself off  So far it has been in for.....

-New t-stat and coolant flush

-New coils, plugs, and wires

-New alternator

-New front sway bar and 2 endlinks

-New LIM gasket and upper intake plenum

What we've done ourselves..

-Front and rear brakes

-Battery

Woot..
