dohc v6 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 OK guys I got the rotors in today. I will be selling these for $150 + shipping if anyone wants to buy them, they are GM, brand new. I want Power Stop to match my back brakes. here you go, brackets are now in the process. Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Can anyone give me the depth of the back of the stock rotor. Quote
BXX Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Sweet!!!! Now I know you prolly posted it, but where did you order the calipers and rotors from??? Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 Actually I was thinking about selling kits to those that wanted to buy them. I was thinking along the lines of $650 shipped for everything. That would include calipers, lines, pads, rotors, brackets, shipping, bolts, instructions, powdercaoting, ect. Would that be of interest to anyone? Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 Those pics dont get anyone excited? Quote
pwmin Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 i'm excited and i think 650 would be a decent price if it's all good, but i have to sell mine. Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 OK,ok sounds good. I hope the rest of the people on list would chime in. For crying out loud these are 13" brakes Quote
GhrarhG Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 If I had the money, I'd be in for a full kit. Until then I'm just in for the brackets. I'll try to piece the rest together as I get the $$$. Quote
blackbombshell95 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 I of course won't be buying kits right off the bat. I want brackets Quote
MonteCarloDude Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 here you go, calipers just came in, cant wait for the rotors, another 20 min or so. These fuckin calipers are HUGGGE. good god..... Quote
intern8tion9l Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 werd, i just want the brackets for now while this is going down. i know i can buy the rest at any point Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 I dont care if you just want the brackets or just the kits, just wanted to know where everyone was, lol. I am putting them on this weekend, and desiging the bracket. Then I will order the material and get it waterjetted. Then get the threads tapped, and of course powder is final. Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 Just did some research, these new brakes are bigger than the factory brakes on the new corvette. Quote
Z34-5speed Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Just did some research, these new brakes are bigger than the factory brakes on the new corvette. Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 haha, I know, they are gonna be nice. Quote
Z34-5speed Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 If you plan on doing this for a little while i may be interested. I have to get some other things fixed first but these are a definate possibility. Kyle Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 I will be making a couple extras. Quote
timg Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 If you can get it all to work, I'm in. I got burned after I bought 2nd gen 12" brakes and they didn't fit (neither the rotor nor the caliper fit). Tim Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 I know the caliper will not fit, but the rotor should slide right on. It has the same bolt pattern. Now I am just worried about the clearance, but I am almost positive it will fit. Well see this weekend. Quote
Euro Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Just did some research, these new brakes are bigger than the factory brakes on the new corvette. the new vette's brakes are 13.4 in the front, and 13 in the rear....so yours technically aren't bigger. They're the SAME. Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 Humm, just looked at advance auto parts and the brakes are 12.7 for the vette. Maybe the zo6 has 14" brakes. Quote
solo intent Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 OMG i just read 14 pages !!! anyways to compare the brakes on a W-body to that on a vette is a feet in itself . If you make a couple extra sets in a couple months i might look to get a set in the future here. not to sound stupid but you will deffinatly have to have aftermarket rims correct? i think it was said but that was forever ago and i don't feel like reading back into it. Euro Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Humm, just looked at advance auto parts and the brakes are 12.7 for the vette. Maybe the zo6 has 14" brakes. I was looking at the 08 base models from http://www.corvettemuseum.com Quote
dohc v6 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 Yeah, I was looking at 06,lol. You might not need new wheels, you might be able to just put spacers on your stcok wheels. I have no idea, i will know more this weekend. Quote
