GtipGary
Soo for those who dont know the transmission on my Grand Prix took a shit on me right before Christmas. I just so happen to have a 95 Ga Gt with a blown motor sitting at my dads house. Ive checked a couple of websites and i know that the Ga has a 4t60-e. I was wondering if that will have the same bolt pattern as the GTP so i could just stick that trans in there. Im not sure if all of the 94 GPs came with the 4t60-e but mine has the LQ1 and the 4t60-e.... soo would this swap be possible???
Psych0matt
if it bolts up, then it should work fine. HOwever, Im not how sure it'll bolt up
GtipGary
Im almost 100% positive it will work, because my cousin "theoneliln" has a 4t60-e out of a 3100 gp the only difference ive heard is the third and fourth gears are slightly smaller... The only thing im unsure of is the bolt pattern his worked because it was out of a gp im not sure if it would be the same out of a Ga... I would hate to pull the thing onto the only lift at the shop and start the swap and not be able to finish it because of this.... i just want to be sure before i go tying up precious lift space! ManicMechanic
If the GA has a 3100 and not the 2.4, it should work.
slick
Yep, gearing will be worse, your car will be slower. That, and I'd be more worried about how the hell your going to mount that in your vehicle. The J/L/N body casings are totally different from a W body case, exterior wise.
