xtremerevolution
The fitting that connects my coolant hose to my engine block from the coolant pump decided it would be a good idea to break while it was still halfway inside the engine block. And yes, IT IS PLASTIC. 1. bitch to get out 2. lots of steam coming out of z34 vents 3. had to get towed home 4. $31 I wouldn't have had to spend if GM had decided to use a metal fitting instead of a cheap shit plastic one in the first place. Oh, and of course the replacement part they had at the auto store was a metal one. I wonder why...

xtremerevolution
thats actually pot metal! I broke a similar fitting on my camaro once, same results as you had. Wow. So I have to really ask, why the hell couldn't they have used metal fittings instead? There aren't really that many coolant hoses on this engine, and its not that much more expensive to make these. What was the reasoning? Especially if they're bound to break...

Every time I fix something on my car I'm proud of it and move on, knowing that I replaced yet another failed part with something that's better and will last me longer than the original. So far, everything I've replaced hasn't needed to be replaced a second time, aside from the shocks which were poor quality to begin with. Now on to the rear strut mounts...
