CRONER
Is there anyone who'd be able to swap the monoleaf suspension on my #1 gen w-body for coilovers, and drop the car down a little, anyone in this area??? That is if i can hunt the parts down first.
CSI_MuNkY
For hunting parts... Held Motorsports :thumb: As for doing the work, its real easy, I dunno if you don't have the facilities or tools, but if you have access to them, its a simple swap. I did it and more in a week. 19Cutlass94
You dont need spring compressors at all
CSI_MuNkY
You dont need spring compressors at all You only need a spring compressor if your doing the front coilovers as well. You would need it to get the stock front springs off. Jamie
ismellrealbad
You dont need spring compressors at all cool. wasnt sure. havent done much on the rear of this car short of leaf spring helpers, trailing arms, wheel bearings, brakes, etc.
Crazy K
I've lowered the rear of my 91 vert. HOW? it's been parked for two years with twenty cv axles in the trunk! LOL - just an idea
CRONER
Yeah, I dont have the tools, place to do it... I'm in new brunswick, anyplace around is fine, i don't mind to drive. Now all i have to do is hunt down the right parts!

CRONER
i'll be lowering my car in Philly this week, F.Y.I. Where in philly and when... Are you going to be doing all the work or you're taking it to someone???

Now all i have to do is hunt down the right parts! All you need are simple hand tools... some sockets and a breaker bar. Nothing expensive. And you dont need a place to do it. If you have a driveway it can be done there in a few hours tops.

I wouldnt relly venture into taking the monoleaf bymyself and swapping the rear... so i need help, that's the bottom line... now, if there's a kit with coilovers preassembled and whatever else needs to be done, i'd get it. Someone mentioned holland motorsports - they have kits???

Someone mentioned holland motorsports - they have kits??? Held Motorsports. If you want coilovers pre-assembled for the rear it will cost more, thats if they even do that. They do come with instructions though. The fronts cannot be pre-assembled because you need the factory knuckle/housing. And if you dont have a cut-off wheel or plasma cutter or something of the sort then you cannot install the front coilovers. If you wanted lowering springs up front, I would do the rear first and drop the car off a dealer and get the springs installed and a 4-wheel alignment since youll need one anyway. CSI_MuNkY
HELD Motorsports, they sell kits, but you have to assemble them yourself, and to be honest a monkey could do it. In my opinion, if you plan to take the time to put new springs in the front, you might as well do coilovers there as well, providing you can afford it. It would require the same tools, provided you ordered a kit with the modified housings. Lee at Held can help you out picking your kits and spring rates. His Stage 2 kits should come with the modified housings. Jamie
CRONER
Anybody done it? What's the price range if i went with front coilovers as well instead of the lowering springs?
19Cutlass94
About $350+ for front coilovers and $90 for front lowering springs + install charge if you dont do them yourself. Both will need alignment.
mra32
i'll be lowering my car in Philly this week, F.Y.I. Where in philly and when... Are you going to be doing all the work or you're taking it to someone??? In west philly, right around 34th & Market. I'll be doing all the work myself, aside from the alignment at the end, of course. And I'll be doing it throughout the course of the week, hopefully it wont take more than a couple days, hahah.
