CutSupreme93
Parking brake on? nope. if a caliper is locked or the brakes need to be changed could that make the light turn on?
ManicMechanic
Not usually. It's generally tripped by low fluid level. Check that next. Have you had the parking brake on? Sometimes the switch sticks or the pedal doesn't always come back up all the way.
CutSupreme93
i never have used the parking brake and the fluid level is fine.
ManicMechanic
Something got unplugged...Unless your pads are really worn down...
CutSupreme93
so if the pads need to be replaced then the light will come on?
ManicMechanic
At times, but usually it's because the fluid level is low.

Schurkey
i never have used the parking brake and the fluid level is fine. The rear brakes only adjust when you activate the park brake. Failure to use the park brake now and then means the rear calipers don't adjust properly. Are you saying the brake lights on the rear of the car came on; or the warning light for the brakes on the dashboard is lit?
