gp90se
is there a write up on it? Doesnt look to bad but my back is out so the fast I can do it the better.
slick
IIRC: Remove 6 plenum bolts. Unbolt EGR and move out of the way. Undo throttle cables. Undo tb heater hose that go's under the throttle body. Remove the vacuum tube that go's to the brake booster. Then... remove hold down bolts for the fuel rail, and pop the injectors out of the LIM. No need to disconnect the fuel rail, just move it aside. Then just undo the LIM bolts. I think that there still may be a write-up on 60* somewhere. What I wrote is going off memory of about 2 years ago.

slick
I did it earlier this year...Gravy work...lol Yep, and IIRC, even taking your time, you should have it done in less than 1 hour.
gp90se
everyone bitches bout how hard the lq1 is to work on, but its really never that bad. I've had the plenum off 4-5 times over the few months, thats easy as easy gets. does the t-stat housing need to be removed/ does the coolant need to be drained? While I'm in there, anything else I should check out (keep in mind theres under 20k on the engine)
Andrew
its recommended to drain out a couple gallons. but honestly, i dont think its worth it for the little spillage you'll get when you dont. and IIRC the thermostat is in the lower intake, so you'll just need to remove the hose. ManicMechanic
Yeah, I hardly spilled anything.
GP1138
If it wasn't dangerous, I'd say jack your car up really high and put it on sturdy jackstands to help with your back.
gp90se
Its the being bent over thats going to kill me, but if I could flip the car over and lay down on my back to do it, i'd be in great shape also have to swap the crossover pipe as it's sprung a leak too... slick
It'll be perfect timing to do the crossover while the intake and all is out of the way.
