rockfangd
ok for the past 5 months my car has been tunning aweful. when it is at idle it putts and when you try to accelerate it putts and bucks, you can hear a pop rip through the exhaust The car starts up easily and never tries to stall, but i did notice that the rpms are not steady. There is no codes and no ses light,. I took it to work and one of the mechanics said it sounds like it is backing up, so he said try the fuel filter. so i did to no avail it is just as bad. I really wish i knew what i could do be because i am afraid that one of these days i am gonna be stuck with no car. Things i have done coil packs, plugs and wires, fuel filter, o2 sensor, (BOSCH ) CTS, IAC, TPS, battery, alternator. and other things i dont remember. Fuel pressure checks at 38 psi at the rail. One injector seems to be a little noisy but always has been, all wires have strong spark. Any help is highly appreciated, i am up to any suggestions 1994 oldsmobile cutlass supreme s 3100 v6 100895 miles
Andrew
i would check the resistence on your injectors with a DMM, and if that checks out, maybe get them flo tested.

Monkton
If your cats bolted on take it off and see if you can look through it and find the clog...

1990lumina
Take it to a shop and have a backpressure test done on it. x2, maybe you can even rent an exhaust back pressure tester (screws into the O2 sensor hole in the maniflod)..shouldn't be above 2psi..might spike when revving but should fall very quickly
rockfangd
wait so that means i would have to remove the o2 sensor again, i never want to touch that damn sensor again . I will find out at work tomorrow if me can do it at our shop

You dont need to touch that to take out the cat or the DP

rockfangd
well i dont know if i am more happy or pissed lol. I finally brought my car into work tonight and found the problem that has been causing such a problem for me. I had 2 defective plug wires. number 3 and number 6. I have never had a set of wires go bad before the plugs . But i kept expecting the car to run like shit and it ran great, now if only i could get the damn TCC solenoid fixed in the tranny so i can get it to stop shaking when i try to accelerate
