hell_raiser
is it ok to put 95 heads on a 97 3100 v6?
19Cutlass94
If the 1995 heads have roller rockers they are the same exact head. You can do it reguardless though. they are the same thing, the only difference being fulcrum roller rockers vs. ball rockers.
Crazy K
No... the 95 will not have roller rockers, BUT may have roller rocker provisions (tab slots cut in the head beneath each rocker stud), meaning the 97's rockers would fit. If they do not, you can use the 95's stamped rockers, with maybe a 5WHP loss, but no big deal. only other difference... the 95 will have a temp sensor in the rear head not used in 97. but that does not matter, cut it off, or stick a pipe thread cap in it's place. hell_raiser
thats wht my 97 felt more ballsy than my
19Cutlass94
I doubt many people could notice the 4hpMAX by the fulrcum roller rockers... its because of the OBDII and the better running 3100. Its the same exact motor minus the rockers. The addition of the sensors and OBDII make the engine run better.
