CutSupreme93 Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 where is the tensioner on the 3.4 DOHC? Quote
wildbill Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Looks like B to me. You need to use the nut that is protruding to release the tension Quote
CutSupreme93 Posted December 15, 2007 Author Report Posted December 15, 2007 do i jus losen it all the way and then slide the whole piece off? Quote
ManicMechanic Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Just put a 15 (I think) wrench on the pulley ( and lift up (going towards the back of the engine), then you can slip the belt off. The bolt does not need to come off. Quote

Chancho Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Lube and a long hollow bar with either a crappy ratchet you dont like or a craftsman (free replacement) and itll come loose Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Air tools. If you dont have them, some type of spray lube and a breaker bar and pipe. You dont wanna break them though. Quote
Andrew Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Just put a 15 (I think) wrench on the pulley ( and lift up (going towards the back of the engine), then you can slip the belt off. The bolt does not need to come off. exactly. and sometimes if the tensioner is very tough, put a pipe on the end of the wrench for more leverage. Quote
Chancho Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 exactly. and sometimes if the tensioner is very tough, put a pipe on the end of the wrench for more leverage. If the tensioner isnt stiff, or is easy to come off its prob time for a new one. you dont want a bad tensioner it causes belt slippage and in a worst case if water gets under there while your driving, the belt can and may come off Quote
CutSupreme93 Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 thx for all the help its much appreciated Quote
