alphagtp
first of all, what is this?? I think I have an idea of it but, we never know second. if it is what I think, my a/c don't works and I'm not going to fix it, so would it be better to me to delete the a/c?? You'd lose the weight of the compressor, plus the weight of the A/C radiator, and would probably allow more airflow into your car's main radiator. You'd need to get a dummy compressor to put back in there though to keep your pulleys in the same pattern though.

NAPA sells a delete pulley to install in place of the compressor. never heard of a 'dummy compressor' LOL!
Psych0matt
I think that's basically what he meant. A solo pulley, instead of the pulley on the compressor. I should get one, cuz I don't ever use my a/c, even when it worked. wait, I take that back, the one time it rained while it was like 85* out

Psych0matt
yeah, but las vegas heat is a lot dryer than midwest heat. I was playing football a few summers ago in triple digit weather in colorado, not as bad (IMO) as 85 or 90 here

alphagtp
yeah, I have heard of some pulleys to have the same serpertine belt with out the a/c. Would this get me any extra hp at all??
Psych0matt
probably not, it's going to do the exact same thing as your ac compressor pulley, when the ac is off
Andrew
probably not, it's going to do the exact same thing as your ac compressor pulley, when the ac is off correct. the only time the AC conpressor causes any HP loss is when the AC is actually on. otherwise, it spins freely. xtremerevolution
I think the biggest point of this is to be able to install a turbo or S/C intercooler in place of your A/C's radiator, and to reduce your car's weight by however heavy that A/C compressor is. At the least, your engine would run cooler because of less airflow restriction through the engine's radiator and into the engine bay. Past that its just for weight loss, nothing else. Hairdo12
All you guys that removed your A/Cs...in winter does the car still defrost properly? My AC is dead, not removed and the defrost works just fine.

My AC is dead, not removed and the defrost works just fine. mine works fine too. if the outside temperature is below freezing the compressor doesn't turn on anyways. gp90se
I deleted my AC from my car ages ago, as long as your heat works well, you wont have any problems defrosting the windshield
