Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 The only problem with 2 tone is that you lose the bottom of the car and it looks like it is riding higher. no, it's still there and visible Quote
Stevo Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I'm talking visually... of course you can see it there but when you place a light color atop of a dark one the lighter will be more prominent and the dark one becomes somewhat difficult to detect. The eye naturally wants to move to the lighter color and the car will seem to be higher up. The darker or more differentiated the color the easier this is to see. Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 never noticed that on any other car with the two tone like that maybe you need glasses Quote
AWeb80 Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 never noticed that on any other car with the two tone like that maybe you need glasses is he not Canadian....eh? They see things differently up "there" Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 That's the first two tone '94 I've ever seen. I've seen pre-'93 two tone cuttys, but that's it. Quote
synistershadows Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I had someone in the whatever section do this, more of what I would do if I was ever going to change my paint scheme I Made that for ya Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I had someone in the whatever section do this, more of what I would do if I was ever going to change my paint scheme I Made that for ya Yes everyone, He did, Synistershadows did in fact do that rendering for me. Quote
Stevo Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I kinda forgot about this ... A version of my 93' repaint. Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 well, the lines I had in mind for mine were closer to this: although with the red stripe in between, as well as the graphics, I think that looks really really good Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I guess these were more of the lines I was thinking Quote
synistershadows Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 kinda like this you said black but it could be any other color? Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 yeah, I've seen red/black look really good. The grille area should be white somehow too, but it may not work on a cutlass Quote
synistershadows Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 heres one with a red stripe Quote
synistershadows Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 and heres with the white grill kinda like the GP Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 what about that whole center section white? or even that with the top of the bumper white? since you're doing these anyways Quote
IRONDOG442 Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 and here's one with a hidden message "ghosted" on the side of the car for you synister Quote
Stevo Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 first: rofl second: the ones I have on the whatever forum are close to what is above but I tried to keep the lines. edit: whoops... Quote
sl3196 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Horrible pic I know but my old cutlass was two tone. I thought it looked pretty good for a rattle can job. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Heres a photoshop Dave did for me! Quote
Stevo Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I like it but something about dark color's on the bottom seems not right. You just lose the bottom of the car. Also coming from the salt capitol of Canada you tend to see a lot of cars with hackjob repairs on rotted panels on the bottom of the vehicle that are patched up and sprayed with black undercoating and thats the first thing I think of when I see the lower part of a car that is sprayed a different color... especially black. Addicted to eaton Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I think a silver would look nice on it. Quote
Stevo Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Which? The White Convertible or Blue Sedan? What about pulling previous Olds paint jobs as examples? Quote
Addicted to eaton Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Blue 2 door .. It would look awesome with silver on the bottem. Quote
