gmrulz4u
Does the coil spring and strut assembly have to be removed in order to change the lower seat that the coil sits into? Mine gave out while in a drive through today and twisted so much that it sliced the inner side of my tire completely open about a foot long gauge on the passenger side. Any step-by-step how to? THANKS! PS It's an 89 Cutlass Supreme

Stevo
You pretty much have to pull the whole tower with the spring compressed. The spring seat has a bearing in it that for some reason just LOVES to die easily on the driver's side. My 88's driver side cracked open after the seat was removed which told me it wasn't the bearing the first time. There's a wall mounted tool for doing this which is like $50 here at a local tool shop.
