dohc v6
I know my tranny is not going to last to long, actualy if I give it more then 4 psi the tranny just cant transfer the power. It still shifts perfect, I just know that one day in the near future I am going to need a HD rebuild. SO, heres the deal. My tranny guy told me that if I bring him the parts for the transmission he will drop my tranny, install the parts and put the tranny back in the car for aroun 650$. The only thing is I have to get the parts. Does anyone know of a company that sells a kit of some sort, or someplace where I can piece it all together. I would like to start now, so when it does go, I will be ready.
slick
HD parts are all custom. I'd fine a good JY tranny, rip it apart, and send the internals out to be treated.
dohc v6
Really, I thought that there were parts from other model years that were built a little stronger
19Cutlass94
There are some parts from a 65E than can be used to build a 'hybrid' But as to the extent of those parts I dont know
xtremerevolution
Isn't the tranny from the 1st gen Bonneville SSEI and Riviera a stronger tranny? Last I remembered it was a 4T60E HD, which was supposed to be a bit beefier. Just a thought...or do you already have a 4T60E HD...
dohc v6
Nope just a stock rebuild on a 4t60e. My tranny just cant hold the power.
xtremerevolution
Nope just a stock rebuild on a 4t60e. My tranny just cant hold the power. So could you take a tranny off a 4T60E-HD and use that?
slick
The 3.4's used a 4t60e HD stock. Not much is really HD about it though. Again, your best bet is to have some good parts sent out.
mfewtrail
Contact ZZPerformance and/or Certified transmissions(in Grand Rapids, MI...google it!). Certified does builds for ZZP and they've made some pretty strong 4T60-E's. I remember one they had in a late model Grand Prix GT running well into the 11's(on slicks launching very hard). EDIT: Dynotech Performance might be able to help you out also.
HillmanZ24
Intense-Racing out of Columbus, Ohio is one that deals with the 4T65E- HD, if you want to go that route.

Brian P
Look for Timken parts IIRC. Get a hardened steel reverse reaction drum off ebay (They are a biiiig weak link) get a 1-2 thrust washer for a 4T65e which is metal, not plastic like the 60-e's. Also the output sungear usually pitts and strips out, get a hardened one from Timken as well. That's just off the top of my head.
