Scottster
Here's some W-body gold... There is a Japanese/American car design publication called "Car Styling" which looks at the industry from a design perspective. Our library at school has a archive of them going back to the sixties, and while leafing through one I came across an article where they discuss the design of the first gen "GM-10" cars. I believe the mag was from feb of 1987. The modern day issues are much more comprehensive, and include loads of sketches and color pics, but this stuff is still pretty unique and interesting. I scanned it all in and shuffled it around. The article was written in half japanese, half english so I took the liberty of reorganizing all of the content so it read more like a comprehensive article. It's intersting to see all of the ideas that were being tossed around before they settled on the cars that we know them as. EviLette
AMGZ. The White 1st gen with the B4U package.... I swear thats the same car from the commercial. Speaking of that, maybe I'm just fabricating a memory.. but when I was young, like 7 or 8 I would have been at the time, I swear I remember a commercial for a GP coupe (just like mine, only white) that was driving along a wet road and there was mist coming off the back of it... the typical s-curve type setting for a sports car TV ad.. Anyone else remember this, or am I just losing my marbles?

mfewtrail
Here's some TGP stuff I posted at the TGP board the other day. I reupped a lot of stuff that has already been posted. The majority is hosted on photobucket or imagevenue since images stay there for years at a time. Click the images for the full sized versions. Days of Thunder screencaps: TGP owner's manual(s): Turbo 3.1 "LG5" engine drawing from a TSTE & other Grand Prix sedan trim levels brochure: 1989 Daytona 500 Pace Car TGP: *Credit to Dave(Gearhead43) for this photo* Turbo Grand Prix Jacket: *Credit to RareGMFan for this photo* Turbo Grand Prix & Turbo Trans Am on a Pontiac pace car poster: Oct. 1989 Popular Hot Rodding Scans: © October, 1989 Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. Rear of brochure with Turbo 3.1 info: TSTE cluster: © 1990 General Motors Corp Red Turbo Grand Prix Post card(these were from a dealership in Michigan if I remember correctly, other dealerships probably distributed them as well): 1989 Grand Prix model overview scan with nice TGP photo: May 1989 Automobile magazine scans: TGP vs. Thunderbird SC article. Someone on the W-body board scanned this. I'll add a better version as soon as I buy this magazine. © May, 1989 Autombile magazine. November 1987 Hot Rod magazine - Grand Illusion article featuring the 305hp 5spd TGP prototype. I borrowed this from Jim(hence the "stolen from turbogranprix.com across the picture ). I'll replace these with better scans once I receive the copy I just purchased on ebay the other day. © November, 1987 Hot Rod magazine. TGP Pike's Peak car that competed in showroom stock class. I'll be adding more of these as I look through my backups. Brightened up engine bay photo from the Grand Illusion article: 1990 Pontiac commercial with TGP & TSTE shown. I hosted this on rapidshare as it will stay there for a long time. To download, "select free" unless you have an account there and you'll have to wait a minute or two to download it. Euro
I was at the library the other night studying, and in the bathroom I found this book "Cale Automotive" or something like that, "Cale Auto" maybe(no...not KaleCo Auto!!! lol ) and it was a book with info on every single car from 1987-1991. It had the TGP, and other w's in there...including recalls. I'll head back tonight and see if I can find it again.

Scottster
UGH!!!!@ that wheel!!!! And that speedo was copied by Honda for their new Civics!!1 Yeah, it's interesting how much of that crazy concept interior made production. The wiper/light pods for example...and I guess that digital Speedo was a precursor to the heads up display.

mfewtrail
TSTE on brochure cover. I didn't scan this one perfectly, so I could not combine the two for a seamless photo...so I just left them separate. I'll attempt to rescan that brochure later. I don't think I'll be able to combine them perfectly unless I cut up the two pages that comprise the shot of the TSTE. Click for larger images(900x1200 in size). 5spd STE interior from the same brochure.

Scottster
Also, I grabbed this little leaflet brochure at Detroit's autorama back in March. Apparently when I am driving my car, I am "holding the future in my hands". There's something to think about... Front cover, These two pages face eachother... Opening those those two, this spread is revealed... There is another page of other models, bragging about all the cool "personal coupes" they make. And then the back just says, "We Build Excitment!" on a white background.
