19Cutlass94 Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 Well needless to say I really need exhaust tips now... one of em fell off on the highway But what do you guys think about these tips? http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=1366 Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 20, 2007 Author Report Posted November 20, 2007 Ken, how is that too big? I have two 2.5" mufflers on my car. I dont think I could find anything smaller if I tried... I might be ordering these today from Jeg's..... for $150 Quote
Brian P Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 screw that. Go with 3" magnaflow stainless tips, found em at pepboys for $55 each, got them on the Camaro (I'll shoot pics up later) they are for 2.5" tailpipes. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 20, 2007 Author Report Posted November 20, 2007 Are the the weld on or clamp on? Im gonna need clamp on cause these are going right to the end of the mufflers. Quote
Brian P Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 they're clamp on. How much space do you have for tips? The ones I bought were I think 12" long. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 20, 2007 Author Report Posted November 20, 2007 12" is way to long... The most I can have is just about 9" Quote
Nick1234 Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 i would go with at least 3 inch tips. maybe 3 1/2. those look great though. i like mine a lot. but might be too big to some. 3 1/2 Quote
CutSupreme93 Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Well needless to say I really need exhaust tips now... one of em fell off on the highway But what do you guys think about these tips? http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=1366 those look good Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 21, 2007 Author Report Posted November 21, 2007 Nick, Those ones are 3.5". And those looks great on your car! how far do they stick out? I like it to pretty much be even with the bumper. No more than 1" of the tip can stick out. But thats just me... Quote
Nick1234 Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 they were pretty much tucked in. never ever hit them. Quote
slick Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 I'd definately hit up the parts stores. $150 for a set of tips is insane. Quote
per0781 Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 150 for a set of tips is average in the 4th gen f-body world. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 21, 2007 Author Report Posted November 21, 2007 yeah seems like the more and more I look for good tips the more and more money Ill be spending. I know at napa, we dont have shit for tips... Quote
mfewtrail Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Does your car have exhaust cutouts in the bumper Jay? If not, I would go with a smaller sized tip. I like square or oval tips on cars that don't have cutouts. Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Get Some 94-96 Gp B4U Tips Pc Them Gloss Black And Polish The Face Like I Did Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 22, 2007 Author Report Posted November 22, 2007 I have two cutouts in the bumper... We were originally going to go with Corvette C5 tips, but being a dual oval tip, I really didnt wanna cut the bumper anymore than I needed to. I dont even know if those tips would fit in the cutouts without cutting the bumper more? Quote
91GPSTE Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Get some rolled end tips. Looks much cleaner. Quote
pontiacmaniac94 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 get some 04+ tips FTW that is just my .02 though they should fit rather nicely in the cutouts without any spaces Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Problem is, the cutlass bumper isnt cut out like that. So I cant fit those style tips Quote
