intern8tion9l Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 i know there are a few people on here with access to machining equipment, and the talent to use them. i need a set of 4 1/8" spacers made to fit my hub/bolt pattern the proper way; up to this point i have been using some lame universal ones, which are pieces of shit to begin with and are def not the way to go. and anyways i shattered one last week. so can anyone take on this project? Quote
Psych0matt Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 hmmm, i've had small ones up front for well over a year with no problem how'd you shatter one? Quote
intern8tion9l Posted November 8, 2007 Author Report Posted November 8, 2007 4 of my wheel studs snapped off, causing a beautiful amount of damage, which included shattering the spacer into like 10 pieces Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 John, Adam on rspeed cant make you one? Id talk to Adam (aweb80) here.. he might be able to help you out on this one Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Give Me As Much Info On What You Need As Possibe. I Wont Make Them, But The Guys At Work That Run The Machine Would. Might Cost A Chunk Of Change Too. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 can you get an estimate ya think? Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Ya. I'll Need As Much Info. As You Can Get Me. You Want Aluminum, Steel, Or Stainless. As All Will Have Diff Prices. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted November 11, 2007 Author Report Posted November 11, 2007 def aluminum. 1/8" thickness, something like 5-6" in diameter, and fit exactly to our hubs of course. i believe the inner diameter is 2 7/8" Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 1/8" is all eh. should be cheaper and way easier than i thought. with them that thin, i can have them lasered out. give me the exact dims you want, i'm not gonna guess cause i don't know. all i know is 114.3 x 5 mm bolt pattern. give me what you want and i'll get a quote asap. intern8tion9l Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 ok looks like 1/8" thickness, 5 3/4" OD, 2 7/8" ID with the 5x115.3mm bolt pattern Quote
ManicMechanic Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 ok looks like 1/8" thickness, 5 3/4" OD, 2 7/8" ID with the 5x115.3mm bolt pattern 115.3 mm? Sure that isn't 114.3? (not that it makes that big of a difference, I think) Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 ok looks like 1/8" thickness, 5 3/4" OD, 2 7/8" ID with the 5x115.3mm bolt pattern 115.3 mm? Sure that isn't 114.3? (not that it makes that big of a difference, I think) No. its 115. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Ah...I wasn't sure if he was running stock or aftermarket wheels. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 doesnt matter. The bolt spacing is the same. You can only differ so much from the 115 bolt pattern before the wheel doesnt fit. Quote
ManicMechanic Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Good to know... I think my car has 114.3 wheels on it right now... Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 yeah all your really trying to do with wheel spacers is to move the wheel out to compensate for the offset. bolt pattern doesnt matter as long as the spacer fits correctly on the hub. Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Maybe I'll Do A Group Buy On These To See If AnyOne Wants Some. I'm Gonna Have Some Made Like This For Me At The Same Time. Quote
pwmin Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 now, arent the rears usually sunken in more than the fronts? if so, wouldnt it be wise to make the rear ones a little thicker? Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 The rears are sunken in more yes, however theres more of an offest issue up front with the caliper than there is out back. Therefore you only need 4 equal size spacers Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Eh. Maybe. That Might Make The Push On A FWD Worse Though. Quote
AWeb80 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I Just Want To Space The XLaces Out Further Quote
pwmin Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I Just Want To Space The XLaces Out Further yeah, it would be cool to have them stick out equally, though. not trying to change your mind, just, you know... Quote
